The mission of DPS is to safeguard and preserve the lives and property of the people of North Carolina through prevention protection and preparation. DPS iscomprisedof approximately 6000 permanent positions andnearly 13000NC National Guard soldiers andairmen.DPS employees help to ensure North Carolina is a safe place to live work and visit through effective law enforcement juvenile justice programs emergency response and recovery and homeland security preparedness.

To qualify for this position applicants mustdemonstrateALL ofthe followingKSAs:
Experience administering a human resources program related to workforce planning and/or development classification and compensation and/or organizational effectiveness for a large organization
Experience analyzing and offering solutions related to organizational effectiveness and/or workforce planning issues
Experience leading crossfunctional teams in the completion of an HRrelated project and/or initiative
Demonstrated experience using business technology applications (i.e. Video / Web Conferencing Microsoft Office Suite)
Experience at the expert level using Microsoft Excel or another data reporting tool
Experience developing reports and metrics to analyze and use data to forecast future workforce requirements identify staffing gaps and/or make informed decisions on recruitment retention and workforce development strategies
Management Preferences(Optional):Theseskillsare notbut managers may choose to interview/select applicants whodemonstrateManagement Preferences.
Experience working in governmental HR operations
Experience with HRrelated systems used by the State of NC such as the Integrated HR Payroll System (Fiori) NEOGOV Workday Cornerstone or People Admin to include accessing information and running reports
