Position Overview:

The Level I Technical Support Specialist will provide advanced technical support to endusers handle complex desktoprelated issues and assist with the installation configuration and maintenance of desktop hardware and software.

What youll do as a Level I Technical Support Specialist:

Technical Support:

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution for desktoprelated issues (hardware software OS network connectivity etc.).
  • Respond to escalated support tickets from L1/L2 support staff and endusers.
  • Resolve issues with operating systems (Windows macOS Linux) and software applications.
  • Diagnose and fix network connectivity issues related to desktop devices.

Installation & Configuration:

  • Install configure and maintain desktop hardware and software (computers peripherals printers etc.).
  • Assist with desktop imaging and deployment for new systems and upgrades.
  • Ensure all desktop systems are updated with the latest security patches and software versions.

User Support & Training:

  • Provide remote and onsite support to endusers for hardware and software issues.
  • Educate users on best practices for using desktop systems and security protocols.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps and resolutions for future reference.

Collaboration & Escalation:

  • Work closely with support and other IT teams to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to higherlevel IT teams such as network or server specialists.

Monitoring & Maintenance:

  • Monitor desktop systems for performance and potential issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on desktop equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with companys IT policies and procedures.

Software & Hardware Management:

  • Manage software licenses deployments and updates.
  • Maintain inventory of desktop hardware and software.
  • Assist with the procurement of desktop equipment when needed

What you will bring to the team:

  • Bachelors degree in computer science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 35 years of experience in IT support specifically with desktop engineering or desktop support roles.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and macOS.
  • Experience with desktop hardware (PCs laptops printers peripherals).
  • Knowledge of Active Directory Office 365 and other enterprise applications.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop tools and ticketing systems (e.g. ServiceNow JIRA).
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP DNS DHCP).
  • Understanding of endpoint security practices (antivirus firewalls encryption).
  • Experience with macOS or Linux support.
  • IT certifications such as CompTIA A Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP) or similar
