Job Description

Applies knowledge about curriculum requirements and educational activities to coordinate professional health education programs. Coordinates and maintains program operations which may include teaching and learning activities program curriculum learner scheduling maintaining databases tracking learner compliance and program accreditation.

Under the direction of the FCM Program Manager the Residency Program Coordinator is responsible for providing daytoday administrative support for the residency training program in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. The program coordinator will support learners including but not limited to faculty residents clinical fellows graduate or undergraduate learners and practicing licensed professionals.

The Residency Program Coordinator will be responsible for administering the following broad categories:
  • Resident Support: Serves as point of first contact for residents around logistical issues external rotations program events and educational activities. Utilizes strong interpersonal and relationshipbuilding expertise to support continuous open communication and engagement between and among program learners and stakeholders over the course of their threeyear training program.
  • Residency Program Operations: Management of the residency management system of MedHub
  • Residency Accreditation: Management of ACMGE annual reporting Program policies ACGME ADS
  • Residency Financial Management: Inputs and monitors budgets for program social events and/or educational activities which may include recruitment orientation graduation conferences and other activities.
  • Management of Residency Program Evaluation: Assist in the coordination design and implementation of the data collection and evaluation process and support directors and faculty overseeing residency program evaluations.
The ideal candidate will be a pragmatic problemsolver and a team player with excellent communication skills and meticulous attention to detail with at least 3 years of experience working in an office preferably in an academic or healthcare setting. This position requires the ability to carry out multiple tasks and projects simultaneously while encountering frequent disruptions in workflow from residents faculty and staff. The ability to manage ones time effectively to ensure timely and accurate completion of assigned work is imperative as is the maintenance of professionalism customer service and a calm demeanor when juggling multiple requests.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $83700 $125600 (Annual Rate).

  • Minimum 3 years of related experience
  • Thorough knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Solid knowledge of health professions education program requirements. Thorough knowledge of health professions education industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Demonstrated ability to develop and implement processes and systems. Thorough knowledge of the administrative and operational implications in a program.
  • Demonstrated experience and documented excellence in oral and written communications skills; includes active listening and critical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Actively cooperates and supports the work of others. Ability to work productively with anyone regardless of background. Empathetic and aware of impact on others. Strong problem solving skills to assist learners and resolve issues.
  • Excellent organizational skills analytical and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to complete work and meet established deadlines in an accurate and timely manner and to manage short and competing deadlines.
  • Thorough knowledge of educational software and platforms. Demonstrated ability to analyze and seek solutions to enhance the user experience. Thorough knowledge of data management documentation methods used in investigating and presenting findings about the program. Skills include statistical analysis of data across databases and systems.
  • Computer skills; proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Advanced organizational and project management skills. Advanced personal organization skills and ability to prioritize competing deadlines.


    • Masters degree in related area preferred
