Job Description
Job Title: Stores Clerk
Work Location: Thika
Department: Flour Milling Plant
Reports To: Operations Supervisor
Employment Type: Full Time
Job Brief: Responsible for managing and tracking inventory in the flour mill and ensuring the efficient and effective flow of materials and products.
Key responsibilities include receiving tagging and storing stock maintaining accurate records of incoming and outgoing materials and participating in physical inventory counts.
Key Duties and Responsibilities.
Production inventory
o Update production inventory data on the data base (SAP) and share production inventory stock reports to management for stock level status.
o Update on the SAP database of all receipted & issued data for raw and packaging materials.
o Create and receive transfer orders for raw material & finished products.
o Send flour stocks and outstanding undischarged trucks report.
o Maintain inventories of materials or supplies necessary to meet production demands.
o Arrange for delivery assembly or distribution of supplies or parts to expedite flow of materials and meet production schedules.
Flour Milling Operations:
o Assist with the intake cleaning and milling of wheat as well as flour blending.
Record Keeping and Reporting:
o Document and report on various aspects of the milling process including wheat intake flour production and other relevant data.
Customer or Driver Interaction:
o Interact with stakeholders customers drivers loaders or other personnel involved in the milling process.
Inventory / stock Management:
o Organize and maintain the store ensuring proper storage and accessibility of materials and products.
o Maintain and generate accurate records of flour and other materials in stock movement ensure proper storage and handling.
Quality Control:
o Assisting in ensuring the raw materials and final flour product by checking for accuracy in weighing blending and other aspects of the process.
SOPs and established processes
o Adhering to established safety and operational procedures to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the milling plant.
Accountabilities:
The Stores Clerk is accountable for the following:
Raw materials Stock inbounds and outward bound
Finished products
Storage
Damages/wastage
Requirements
Education and Key qualification Requirements:
Education:
KCSE plus Higherlevel qualification in store.
Certificate in supply chain management / logistics is desirable.
Extensive work experience of over 3 years in a similar position.
Must have worked in flour milling company
SAP experience is a must for the incumbent.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong work ethic attention to detail and quality focus.
Experienced in food safety audits.

Accurate record keeping and attention to detail are crucial for ensuring the quality and accuracy of the flour milling process.
Communication
The ability to communicate effectively with colleagues customers loaders and drivers is important for coordinating operations and resolving issues.
Effectively convey information instructions and expectations.
Possess active listening skills and the ability to provide constructive feedback. Knowledge of the Milling Process:
A basic understanding of the milling process from wheat intake to flour production is helpful for performing the job effectively.
Organizational Skills
Efficiently manage time and resources.
Prioritize tasks to streamline workflows and optimize productivity. Computer Skills: Proficiency in using computer systems for record keeping and reporting is often required.
Teamwork and integrity
High degree of trustworthiness is required for this position.

Be adaptive and make informed decisions under pressure.
Technical Expertise
Deep understanding of the manufacturing process and related machinery.
Stay updated with technological advancements in the bakery industry.
Computer Skills
Proficiency in MS office packages is desirable for this job.
SAP experience
Physical Requirements:
Work is performed in a milling environment with exposure to noise machinery and other potential hazards.
Involves Standing stooping bending climbing and kneeling occasionally.
Close visual work on PC and controls
Able to wear required PPE.
Work extended shifts and weekends as needed.
Requires standing for extended periods and occasional lifting of materials up to 50 kgs.
