Custodian

The Custodian plays a vital role in maintaining a clean safe and welcoming environment for students staff and visitors. Collaborating closely with school staff and external vendors the Custodian ensures the smooth daytoday operations of all school facilities.

Qualifications :

Education: High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Licenses: Valid drivers license.

Experience: Prior custodial or maintenance experience preferred.

• Must pass state and federal background checks including fingerprinting and child maltreatment registry checks.
• Ability to multitask and work collaboratively in a fastpaced environment.
• Practical communication skills both verbal and written.
• Selfdirected with the ability to work independently.
• Proficiency in electronic systems (e.g. cell phone computer ticketing systems).
• Knowledge of modern cleaning methods materials tools equipment maintenance principles and sanitation methods.
• General repair skills.
• Ability to lift bend and pull over 50 pounds; capable of standing walking bending and kneeling for long periods.
• Comfortable working in indoor and outdoor environments with exposure to dust chemicals bodily fluids varying temperatures and equipment with moving parts.
• Ability to travel between multiple locations daily; must have reliable transportation.

The role involves exposure to various environmental conditions and requires flexibility to adapt to different tasks and schedules. The Custodian must be prepared to respond to emergencies and perform duties that ensure the safety and cleanliness of the school facilities.

Compensation

Custodian wages will be based on individual experience and within the SY 202526 Salary Schedule range.
