Job Description
AECOM is seeking a talented and experienced Geologist IV to oversee environmental remediation projects. The candidate will work from the Tallahassee office in Florida. This position will support the environmental business line working on the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Petroleum Restoration Program and other remediation projects.
The selected candidate will join a multidisciplinary collaborative and diverse team focused on delivery of superior services to our clients. In this role the selected candidate will provide expert leadership in establishing sediment cleanup levels risk mitigation cost forecasting liability management public relations and ultimately helping our clients reach sustainable solutions on complex sediment sites.
The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:
- Manages invoicing and cash flow management
- Directs professional and technical staff to complete complex environmental projects
- Leads teams by utilizing advanced scientific principles theories and practices
- Utilizes existing technologies and past experience to develop technical solutions to complex problems
- Interprets and records data conducts analyses compares findings to relevant studies and local state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
- Analyzes financial statements and completes budget tracking
- Performs work with minimal direction with periodic reporting to area manager
- Oversees the preparation of work plans and organizes project studies
- Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems with the support of the project team
- Supervises junior and midlevel staff during all phases of project work
- Conducts reviews and provides staff feedback for continued improvement
Qualifications :
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Geology Engineering or related field 6 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Drivers License and as a condition of employment must pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records Review
- Overnight travel required on a basis determined by management per business needs
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Masters Degree in Geology Engineering or related field
- Professional License (PE PG)
- 7 years of experience in environmental remediation (soil and water) project management
- Experience with regulator and stakeholder negotiations
- Experience successfully managing environmental projects under FDEPs Petroleum Restoration Program
- Thorough working knowledge of Chapter 62780 Florida Administrative Code
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication both verbal and written skills
- Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
- Superior communication writing editing and reporting skills for a wide variety of audiences
- Experience preparing proposals cost estimates schedules and change orders
- Interest in business development
