Duties
- Performing comprehensive assessments of patients and plan individual and group interventions
- Collaborating in an interprofessional environment in providing patient focused care
- Contributing to program planning and development
- Planning implementing and evaluating Recreation Therapy interventions
- Complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients
Qualifications :
- Bachelors degree in Recreation and Leisure studies with a major/emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation or Bachelors degree in a related field (Kinesiology Physical Education Psychology or Health Studies).
- Postdiploma in Therapeutic Recreation.
- Membership in either a Provincial National State or International Therapeutic Recreation Professional Association.
- R/TRO designation (Preferred)
- Eligibility for Certification (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist CTRS)
- Experience working in rehabilitation and complex continuing care environment (preferred)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Level C Healthcare Provider.
- Minimum of 2 years experience in the practice of Therapeutic Recreation.
- Expertise in planning implementation and evaluation of Therapeutic Recreation interventions.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Sound judgment and ability to work independently and in a team setting.
