Position Summary
The Manager General Radiography Ultrasound and Breast Imaging is an integral member of the Medical Imaging leadership team. The Manager General Radiography Ultrasound and Breast Imaging will lead the operations of the general radiography ultrasound and breast imaging modalities across UHN sites and will be responsible for optimizing access to care leading all human resource functions developing and implementing innovative models of care to support highest quality care and best patient and provider experiences developing and monitoring key performance indicators financial management support strategic planning and leading business planning in partnership with internal and external stakeholders (including MOH and OH).
Duties
- Manage all aspects of the general radiography ultrasound and breast imaging modalities across UHN sites
- Collaborate with radiologists and other physician leaders to conceptualize develop implement and evaluate practices that improve access to the highest quality care
- Stay ahead of leading practices and innovations to identify opportunities to deploy advances at UHN
- Lead incident management oversee debrief implement recommendations and escalate as required
- Lead practice initiatives in alignment with modality priorities
- Build and foster an environment that promotes high engagement and expertise of MRTs and other team members
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators taking appropriate action when expectations are exceeded or not met
- Collaborate with Medical Imaging Managers to share best practices identify areas for collaboration promote crossmodality opportunities that strengthen the department
- Continually assess and analyse business and operational planning identifying human resources and functional requirements necessary to execute modality and departmental plans
- Perform financial management responsibilities by allocating funds to attain workload volume targets monitoring financial and statistical performance
- Develop capital and operating budgets in conjunction with the Director
- Lead development and implementation of staff recruitment and retention strategies in collaboration with People & Culture
- Manage coach and mentor direct reports including modality supervisors
- Identify and resolves disputes concerns and/or problems within the team in collaboration with People & Culture in a manner that is fair and consistent with Hospital and departmental policies
- Liaises with other Departments across UHN on operational issues including quality improvement resource utilization staffing standardization and productivity
- Develops business relationships with peers locally and nationally
- Lead communication of policy and operational issues within Department
Qualifications :
- Completion of a Masters degree in a business public health health administration or equivalent
- Experience working in a hospital or healthcare environment
- Indepth knowledge of the Medical Imaging field
- 10 years experience in leadership roles with a minimum of 5 years in a formal management role with direct reports
- Completion of a recognized program in a medical imaging discipline preferred
- Membership with appropriate professional body preferred
- Experience working with personnel at senior levels
- Ability to use good judgment in assessing difficult situations
- Ability to take a creative and proactive approach to problem recognition solving and conflict resolution
- Excellent team building management and strategic planning skills
- Excellent problem recognition and problem solvingskills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
