Position Summary
The Director Workforce Optimization plays a critical role in establishing and leading UHNs first hybrid Scheduling Office. This newly created role promotes and monitors best practices in scheduling provides strategic leadership to ensure efficient utilization of human resources to ensure that optimal datadriven master rotations are maintained as conditions affecting labour demand evolve. This role creates and communicates measurements of scheduling effectiveness and ensures that Workforce Management technology meets enterprise scheduling and staffing requirements. Using your technical expertise and collaborative approach you will lead a team of individuals responsible for Master Rotation maintenance schedule training Workforce Management system configuration and employee scheduling. You will collaborate with leadership teams across UHN to promote accountability and ensure adherence to appropriate collective agreements scheduling policies and models of care as well as ensuring that schedulers across UHN receive appropriate Workforce Management training.
The Director Workforce Optimization will have the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the implementation of UHNs first enterprise Workforce Management System which aims to kick off in Fall 2025.
About you
You are a dynamic leader with exceptional technical skills adept at optimizing workforce management processes. You have strong analytical skills coupled with advanced proficiency in mathematics and Excel enabling you to make datadriven decisions that enhance operational efficiency. You have a proven track record of successfully leading a team and fostering a collaborative and resultsoriented environment. You have proven skills in working with various levels of leadership explaining complex processes and requirements and helping to support stakeholders in making key decisions. You can operate with ambiguity and can manage conflicting expectations.
You have experience working with an Enterprise Staff Scheduling/WFM systems preferably in a complex hospital environment with multiple unions and work schedules and experience collaborating with departmental leaders to gather required information.
