Position Summary

As part of UHNs commitment to modernizing and operationalizing a transparent equitable and competitive compensation framework the organization is undertaking a significant assessment and redesign of salary structures for nonunion employees.

As the Lead Compensation Projects your expertise will serve as a critical conduit between strategic direction and UHNwide execution of this program. You will lead the structural review through analyzing and interpreting proposals and recommendations using advanced compensation analytics evaluating impacts across job families levels and employee groups. You will drive the proposal for recommendations including updates to banding architecture comparatio methodology job leveling and market alignment strategies. You will play a crucial role in the redesign of UHNs compensation administration practices and policy and will collaborate across People & Culture Finance and with other key leaders to prepare concise datadriven summaries for executive approval.

Additionally you will have the exciting opportunity to be part of UHNs Human Resource Information System (HRIS) transformation which will start in Fall 2025. You will contribute to the successful configuration implementation and integration of the new system for advanced compensation management requirements and beyond; ensuring a smooth transition and enhanced efficiency.

About you

You have a deep understanding of compensation strategy policy and job architecture. Your analytical skills attention to detail and strong project management skills will ensure alignment to best practices and compensation governance.

You ideally have experience working with compensation and job architecture rules in a modern HRIS system along with preferred exposure in a hospital environment or other complex environment and experience collaborating with People and Culture and departmental leaders to gather required information.

Duties

  • Structural Review & Methodology Configuration: Demonstrate advance compensation analytics and methodologies to influence datadriven frameworks and recommendations.
  • Redesign of Compensation Administration Practices & Policy: Develop compensation administration policies that are transparent and support equityfocused decisionmaking while ensuring legislative compliance.
  • Financial Modeling & Costing: Create costing models that incorporate complex compensation analytics including predictive modelling of salary movement workforce distribution and financial impact.
  • Stakeholder Consultation & Collaboration: Collaborate with People & Culture and department leaders to ensure compensation analytics are in line with pay practices and support decisionmaking requirements.
  • Project Planning & Execution: Build a detailed project implementation roadmap informed by compensation analytics and milestones and ensure successful deployment of program.
  • Communication: Simplify complex information and communicate findings to key stakeholders. Acts as a key resource in creating user guidance advice and training.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in compensation.
  • Training: Identify skills and knowledge gaps in compensation across the organization develop and deliver training programs for compensation support employees during the HRIS transition to understand compensation management and create and maintain training materials for compensation management.
  • HRIS Transformation: In collaboration with the HRIS team ensure accuracy consistency and reliability of compensationrelated data within the HRIS (data integrity) identify and correct data issues (data cleanup) conduct regularly audits to verify data accuracy document cleanup processes.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or related field.
  • 68 years experience in a Compensation role that is focused on banding architecture comparatio methodology job levelling and market alignment strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing new compensation structures or major changes to pay programs.
  • Strong background in policy development pay equity compliance and administrative governance.
  • Exceptional analytical and Excel modeling abilities.
  • Deep understanding of compensation strategy policy and job architecture.
  • Strong written communication skills with experience in drafting both technical and changeoriented materials.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Able to navigate ambiguity and build alignment in complex environments.
  • Proficiency with HRIS software (specifically with Advanced Compensation modules).
  • Experience in healthcare or broader public sector considered an asset.
