Doctor of Education Program
The University of St. Thomas (UST) a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education located in Houston Texas near the vibrant central business district Texas Medical Center and museum district is seeking applicants for a fulltime faculty member and Assistant Director at the level of Assistant Professor in the SEHSDoctor of Education Department.
Summary: This will be a fulltime nontenure track position at the level of Assistant Professor and Assistant Director in the School of Education and Human Services beginning January 2025. To be considered for this position candidates must hold a doctorate in the field of Education or related field and be wellversed in the anthropology of Catholicism. Teaching experience in a K12 setting is strongly preferred. (ABD will be considered but the degree must be completed by the time of appointment.) Candidates with professional experience in leadership will be given priority as the appointment will be primarily working with doctoral students in leadership. The successful candidate will have experience in teaching courses related to leadership but with a strong recognition of Catholic anthropology. It is also important to have knowledge of the standards and processes related to the Texas Education Agency as they serve as one of the accrediting bodies to which the department personnel must adhere. This position will teach required courses as determined by the Dean and/or Department Chair as well as have the freedom to propose new courses that fit their expertise and interests. In addition the successful candidate will conduct related research and provide service work such as academic advising in support of the School of Education and Human Services. As Assistant Director the candidate will assist the Director in the daily management of the department.
