Job Description

EDUCATION:

High school education or equivalent required

A&P License is required

o In lieu of A&P license must have DD214 form to be reviewed and eligible for companysponsored technical certification and future license achievement. Must have hours of OntheJob training (MOS/NEC/AFSC) reviewed and evaluated by FSDO

Requires use of arithmetic blueprints and specifications plus knowledge of jet and piston airframe and engine principles. Must have knowledge of aircraft mechanical systems.

EXPERIENCE:

Requires a minimum of 3 years of diversified jet turboprop piston modification 100 hour and annual service experience as an A&P Mechanic. Preferred 10 years of experience.

Preferred experience in a customer service facility performing inspections and repair of aircraft.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain an Airport Security Badge through the local airport authority (if applicable).

JOB SUMMARY:

To perform licensed A&P Mechanic work including repairs maintenance overhaul modifications and troubleshooting on Textron Aviation aircraft at the San Antonio Service Center.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs a variety of diagnostic and mechanical duties on one or more jet turboprop and piston multiengine aircraft models involving diagnoses of malfunctions and required disassembly rework repair replacement reassembly or adjustment of various aircraft systems to prepare aircraft mechanically for flight and delivery to customer. Requires thorough knowledge of aircraft engines mechanical systems and components on all assigned aircraft.

o Checks corrects or replaces a variety of complex aircraft assemblies aircraft systems landing gear systems air conditioner systems pressurization system turbocharges and optional equipment installations.

o Repairs or replaces a variety of engine components and accessory items such as carburetors fuel control units fuel injection systems air bleed systems oil and fuel pumps starter/generators and hydraulic and vacuum pumps.

o Requires knowledge of 100 hours annual and progressive inspection procedures set forth in FAR 43. Performs modification work on aircraft systems and structures. Performs minor upholstery and touchup type paint work.

o Responsible for clear concise and accurate written reports in logs inspection reports in logs inspection reports and in parts identification for issue and return documents.

    • May be required to observe operation of mechanical systems during flight and troubleshoot problems for inshop repairs.
    • Responsible for guiding instructing and scheduling the work of three or more technicians and provides job related training or instruction as required.
    • Responsible for clearly articulating daily status updates to leadership. Must be able to communicate clearly with other A&P Mechanics/Service Center employees on customer aircraft status and needs.
    • Performs other related duties as required.
