Supervises
Assistant Billing Coordinator. May take a lead role in the oversight of the office when the clinical manager is out of the office.

Responsibilities
Maintains patient confidentiality per HIPAA and facility regulatory and / or policy guidelines on privacy. Participates in regularly scheduled interdisciplinary team meetings. Upholds the mission vision and values of Petersburg Medical Center acting as an ambassador for the Home Health department and its services. Participates in the planning and delivery of services within the Adult Day Program and Senior InHome Services promoting highquality eldercare and community wellness.
  • Evaluate on both the front and back end of consolidated billing process and queue claims for insurance billing. Track timeliness of the billing cycle and review remits to maximize appropriate reimbursement.
  • Troubleshoot identify and resolve claim issues using a team approach with staff. initiate appeals when applicable. Attend billing staff and other meetings as required.
  • Attention to maximizing employee potential demonstrating teamwork meeting quality professional standards to promote department flow and efficiency.
  • Training and oversight of work performed by Reception / Admissions / Billing Coordinator.
  • Manages physician referrals computer entry of registration and scanning of Home Health documents.
  • Handles insurance verification ongoing eligibility and preauthorization of accounts.
  • Review research and the planning of workflow revenue cycle coding and payor changes that affect the fiscal viability of the agency.
  • Compose reports as needed on Excel Word Power Point and Outlook.
  • Understand and utilize electronic medical records. Performs all functions according to the established policies procedures and regulatory requirements as well as applicable professional standards. Provide all customers of PMC with an excellent service experience by consistently demonstrating out Guiding Values and Code of Conduct. Present PMC and the Home Health Agency in a positive manner.
  • Supply ordering and storage of organization and updating of the item master when needed.
  • Works with the facility manager at Mountain View Manor on billing and support around their billing process.
  • May be asked to provide physical support to the Adult Day Program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Patient care is always first. With this in mind the Home Health Office Manager must possess the ability to work and manage multiple projects and activities simultaneously. Must have excellent communication skills with a team approach to success flexibility and perform clerical and billing functions in a concise manner and requires a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Must be able to pass a thirdparty background check and a State of Alaska background check by the Department of Social Services Background Check Unit.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen (including Marijuana).
Experience
Four (4) years of clerical office experience preferably in billing health insurance or a healthcare setting.

Working Conditions / Physical Requirements
Moderate to heavy lifting (no greater than 50 pounds) standing walking stocking equipment and supplies. Works indoors in a welllit and ventilated office.

Environment
Variable. Office may be small and / or crowded. Office work workplace computer printer and scanner.
