Who we are looking for:
Slate is looking for an energetic organized and experienced Principal Engineer Interior Seating to join our growing team. This key technical leadership position will be responsible for the delivery of the complete Seating system.
What you get to do:
- Be an integral part of an energetic team thats challenging the status quo of vehicle design.
- Lead the Definition Development and Delivery of Interior Seating.
- Develop and implement functional objectives to meet project performance targets including all government regulations and due care safety expectations.
- Manage all aspects of interior component and system developments to meet project requirements including performance cost mass timing manufacturability etc.
- Lead seat comfort ergonomics to be best in class.
- Lead root cause analysis during launch with collaboration from cross functional teams.
- Lead collaboration between internal/external teams and suppliers to meet all project requirements as part of vehicle integration.
- Support supplier PPAP achievement.
- Manage change control with accurate and ontime releases.
What you bring to the team:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or equivalent. Master degree preferred.
- 15 years in complete seat engineering from concept to launch.
- Launch experience leadership required. Operations experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of the full Seat Complete product cycle.
- Undeniable passion for automotive interior seating and interiors.
- Strong experiential knowledge of NHTSA/FMVSS requirements.
- Proven communication and team building skills.
- Ability and Desire work in a fun and fast paced environment
