Job Description
General Information
- Only applicants with current OPOTA Peace Officer certification will be considered for this position.
- 24/7 operation that includes 3 shifts schedule consists of four 10hour shifts with 3days off (days off are subject to a rotating schedule).
- Exposed to hostile persons/situations &/or physical violence.
- May require overnight travel &/or working prolonged & irregular hours.
Compensation
Starting compensation for this position is $31.20 hourly/$64896 annually with the opportunity to advance in pay after six months. This position is in Pay Range 12 please visit Pay Range Table for more information.
Background Check Information
The final candidate will be required to submit to an extensive background check drug test physical etc.
Drug Screening
All final applicants tentatively selected for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug use prior to appointments. Testing will also be performed for the presence of marijuana. An applicant with a positive test shall not be offered employment unless the applicant submits medical documentation of legally prescribed medications or a recommendation for medical marijuana.

About Us:
The Ohio Casino Control Commission has the responsibility to ensure the integrity of casino gaming sports gaming skillbased amusement machines and fantasy contests by licensing regulating investigating and enforcing state laws.
What We Do:
The Ohio Casino Control Commission is a bipartisan regulatory body made up of seven Commissioners an Executive Director and supporting staff that provides oversight of the casino gaming industry in Ohio. To fulfill the mission and the responsibilities of the Commission the Executive Director oversees eight divisions that provide critical functions to ensure the integrity of casino gaming: communications enforcement legal counsel licensing & investigations (casino gaming & fantasy contests) operations regulatory compliance responsible gambling and skill games.

4.5 yrs. law enforcement or equivalent military law enforcement experience with 1 of those yrs. working on complex & long term criminal investigations; OPOTC; & valid drivers license.
Or completion of associate core program in criminal justice social sciences (e.g. psychology sociology criminology) or other field commensurate with job duties; 3 yrs. experience in law enforcement with 1 of those yrs. working on complex & long term criminal investigations; Ohio Peace Officer Training Certification (OPOTC); & valid drivers license.
Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above. The final applicant must successfully pass background check by appointing authority which includes a polygraph. The final applicant accepted for this position will be required to submit to urinalysis to test for illegal drug applicant with a positive test result will not be offered employment per section 123:17609 of the Ohio Administrative Code.
Job Skills: Investigation
What Youll Do
- Independently conducts complex covert & overt criminal investigations including multijurisdictional financial &/or longterm (e.g. patron related crimes casino internal crimes cheating collusion money laundering organized crime related theft robbery etc.).
- Assumes total case responsibility for collection & preservation of evidence evaluates catalogs safeguards & prepares courtroom evidence serves as court liaison for gaming enforcement unit confers with prosecuting attorneys testifies in court.
- Provides work direction technical assistance & training to enforcement agents as a lead worker acts in the absence of a supervisor.
- Gathers evaluates safeguards prepares & forwards criminal intelligence information to various entities (e.g. internal Intelligence Analyst other casinos local state federal law enforcement agencies).
- Issues citations & makes arrests submits reports of investigations to superiors with recommendations for correcting problems.
- Prepares & submits detailed investigative reports for criminal &/or regulatory actions (e.g. noncompliance with Internal Control Standards) to OCCC Division Directors.
- Serves as liaison to & leads investigations with local state federal & other law enforcement/investigatory agencies.
- Represents the agency on state & federal task forces investigating criminal activity (e.g. organized crime money laundering).
- Assists in verification/authentication of slot machines.
- Assists & makes recommendations in the development of policies & procedures.
- Interacts on a daily basis with casino staff (e.g. security surveillance personnel etc.) to ensure meaningful communication & information sharing.
- Represents superiors (e.g. Gaming Agent Supervisor Director of Enforcement etc.) at select meetings & conferences as directed performs other duties as assigned by superiors as required in order to fulfill OCCC mission & goals.
