Job Description

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement for this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
  2. Prepare and set up the grill station for daily operations ensuring it is clean wellorganized and properly equipped.
  3. Receive and review food orders to determine the type and quantity of items to be grilled. Follow recipes and customer preferences to prepare season and marinate meats seafood vegetables eggs and other ingredients as required.
  4. Operate and closely monitor the grill to maintain precise cooking temperatures and timing. Grill menu items according to specified guidelines making adjustments to cooking time and heat levels as necessary.
  5. Strictly adhere to all food safety and sanitation guidelines and procedures. Handle store and rotate food products correctly to minimize waste and maintain freshness. Keep the grill area clean organized and hygienic.
  6. Regularly check grilled items for taste appearance and temperature to ensure customer satisfaction. Address any concerns or issues promptly and take corrective action as needed.
  7. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of grilled items. Maintain effective communication to facilitate smooth operations minimize delays and foster teamwork.
  8. Assist in monitoring and managing inventory levels for grill station ingredients. Notify the supervisor or manager when supplies are running low to ensure timely replenishment.
  9. Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor without delay.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Two (2) or more years of recent experience as a Grill Cook or in a similar role within a restaurant or food service establishment. Profound knowledge of grilling techniques cooking temperatures and food safety practices including adhering to food time and temperature standards.

CERTIFICATES LICENSES REGISTRATIONS: Food Handlers License or equivalent. Successful completion of Bloodborne Pathogens and hazardous material training.

OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES: Familiarity with various types of grills equipment and grilling tools. Proficiency in accurately following recipes portion sizes and presentation guidelines.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Essential duties involve performing physical exertion such as frequent brisk walking climbing stairs crouching stooping bending stretching reaching pushing kneeling squatting and standing for an entire work shift with standard breaks. Essential duties require lifting up to 50 pounds to stack store or move kitchen or restaurant supplies and equipment. Essential duties involve a flexible work week with additional hours routinely required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Essential duties involve working in a small confined work area and kitchen environment with floors that become slippery in the process of preparing food and beverages. Essential duties involve working with large numbers of people while primarily in an inside environment which contains high noise levels strong odors and frequently fluctuates in temperature due to running ovens and refrigeration units.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

$26.00 an hour based on experience
