Reporting to the Adult Learning & Employment Manager this position directly supervises mentors supports and coordinates the activities of the Trhud crew comprised of citizens entering the workforce under TH Mentorship Program initiatives. The incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the Trhud Crew including planning and organizing tasks assigned by various TH Departments supervising crew members creating opportunities for personal and professional skills development implementing learning and training plans assisting crew members with tasks through mentorship and coaching.
An Eligibility List may be established from this competition the duration of the eligibility list may be up to 12 months. The eligibility list may be used to fill future permanent fulltime permanent parttime temporary fulltime temporary parttime term or auxiliary oncall vacancies within the same department and classification based on the organizational needs by going the next highest ranked candidate until the eligibility list expires.

Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of Grade 12 (or equivalent) and two years experience working in Trades Project Management Human Services or a related field. An equivalent combination of education training and experience may be considered.
- Minimum one year working in a supervisory role withdemonstrated experience in coaching and mentoring staff.
- A strong understanding of intergenerational trauma effects of colonialism socioeconomic issues and various challenges faced by Trondek Hwechin citizens in the community.
- Knowledge of existing community health wellness education and employment programs and services with ability to make referrals as needed.
- Knowledge of safe work practices and an ability to demonstrate safe work practices relating to construction and general building/grounds maintenance.
- Experience working in construction carpentry or general maintenance with ability to operate power tools and equipment.
- Ability to seek direction work collaboratively with all TH Departments and provide clear and regular communication.
- Proficient in effectively coordinating adjusting and managing a work plan of varied duties for crew members.
Conditions of Employment:
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- Certification in safety courses for ATV operation or willingness to obtain.
- Willingness to take training in safety practices and safe operation of power tools and equipment including chainsaws.
- Standard First Aid certification or a willingness to obtain.
- Valid Class 5 drivers license ability to drive a standard vehicle and a Clear Drivers Abstract
- Class 4 drivers license an asset.
- TDG and WHMIS or willingness to obtain.
- TH101 Cultural Awareness training.
