The position is designated Statutory Exemptand is exemptfrom the State Human Resources Act
This position may be eligible for hybrid remote work in accordance with state policy and the agencys remote work program but does require weekly onsite work
The ApplicationSystems Analyst II will help design develop and support complex enterprise business solutions for the North Carolina Department of Public Safety. The DITPublic Safety application development team manages a suite of custom applications built primarily with the .NET framework and other Microsoft technologies such as SQL Server and SharePoint. A strong focus of this position will also be to help us modernize our current architecture and platforms.

About the Division
Information Technology (IT) provides the technological resources and infrastructure necessary to support the Department of Public Safetys mission. IT is responsible for management and support of all aspects of computing and telecommunications throughoutDPS. IT manages the data voice and video network wide area and Internet connections and central servers providing application database file and web services. IT is also responsible for the security of the departments information assets and the protection of these assets against vulnerabilities. IT maintains and support business analysis and participates in the collection and reporting of data to internal and external entities.
This divison isresponsible for management and support of applications that are used for the care custody and supervision of adult persons sentenced after conviction for violations of North Carolina law. ADAC maintains and supports a wide range of applications used by the Section of Prison and Section of Community Corrections to provide custodial care educational opportunities and health services to incarcerated persons as well as supporting communitybased supervision for persons on probation parole or postrelease supervision. They provide decision support to management: monitoring the flow of offenders; assisting in immediate and longterm space and staff planning; and helping to select the most appropriate parole candidates.About the Organization

Bachelors degree in computer science or an IT related field from an appropriately accredited institution
or
Associate degree in computer science or an IT related field or related technical degree from an appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience in business application consulting or development
or
High School or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and four years of experience in business application consulting or development; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

HYBRID/FLEXIBLE WORK SCHEDULES:
