Job Summary


You will have the opportunity to partner with theLife Enrichment Director by creating planning and implementing activities andspiritual activity offerings to meet the needs of the residents while complyingwith all state and federal regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Standing walking sitting using hands to finger handle or feel reaching with hands or arms climbing or balancing stooping kneeling crouching crawling talking hearing tasting and smelling.
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less).
  • Distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more).
  • Color vision (ability to identify and distinguishcolors).
  • Peripheral vision (ability to observe an area thatcan be seen up and down to the left andrightwhile eyes are fixed on a given point).
  • Depth perception (threedimensional vision ability to judge distance andspatial relationships).
  • Assists in planning developing and implementing activity programmingdesigned to enrich the lives of our residents.
  • Leads small medium and large group activities as well as onetooneactivity programs.
  • Provides spiritual/emotional support in a group and individual activitysetting.
  • Provides spiritual offerings to other parts of the Masonic campus toinclude: Assisted Living and Personal Care.
  • Develops new opportunities for resident engagement and participationwhile working with other departments.
  • Works with volunteers for the Activity Department.
  • Assists with transporting residents to appointments and outings whenneeded.
  • Prepares equipment supplies and space to accommodate activities andcleans up after conclusion.
  • Transports residents to and from activities as needed. Includes fieldtrips and outings when needed.
  • Ensures proper supervision during activities.
  • Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must maintain appropriate documentation charting activityparticipation behaviors and degrees of participation.
  • Adheres to community policies and procedures.
  • Works with the Director to create a homelike environment in theresidents room which includes pictures family photos plants (please followDementia guide to toxic plants) afghans CD player etc.
  • Ensures customer and family confidentiality regarding all care concernsand issues.
  • Works tactfully with personnel residents visitors and the generalpublic.
  • Creates and maintains an atmosphere of warmth personal interest andpositivity.
  • Ensures that activities are occurring as planned following the monthlyactivity calendar.


Position Requirements/Qualifications


High school diploma or GED.

Must have basic computer skills.

1 2 years of LongTerm Care experience preferred but not required.

Must have patience tact a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.

Ability to maintain composure in stressful situations.

Must have a flexible attitude and the ability to multitask.

Must be able to push move and/or lift a minimum of 50 pounds.

Environmental Adaptability:


Works indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Possible exposure to unpleasant odors.

Possible exposure to chemicals as identified in the MSDS Manual.
