The Portsmouth Academyis excited to invite applications for an inspirationalTeacher of Musicto join our dedicated team ofprofessionals teaching students from years 7 11. We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic educator with a positive and open approach to learning.Your passion for music and commitment to student success will contribute to our schools vibrant arts community.

The Music department is situated in the Aspire Building and boasts outstanding facilities. We seek a candidate with experience in music technology and recording equipment who can enhance the existing resources and share new ideas.
You will be responsible for implementing an engaging and effective curriculum that enthuses and engages students of all abilities and ages while maintaining high expectations toensure that every student reaches their full potential.

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Plan implement and deliveran appropriately broad balanced relevant and differentiated curriculum for KS3 & KS4 students
  • Monitor and supportthe overall progress and development of students
  • Facilitate and encouragea learning experience that provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential
  • Contribute to raising standardsof student progress and attainment
  • Integrate the Thinking Schools ethosinto all aspects of school life to develop students as thinkers enabling them to achieve success and be their best selves

The academy has launched a one:one device policy so every child in Year 7 Year 8 and Year 9 has their own laptop and we are particular interested in finding teachers who have experience of or would like to develop experience of teaching with technology.
