The Opportunity
Our Individual Insurance team is looking for a Junior Medical Underwriter that will be responsible for assessing individual insurance applications to determine insurability through both medical and nonmedical selection criteria. This role involves evaluating healthrelated risks collaborating with medical professionals and ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines.
What youll do
Responsibilities
Responsible for performing individual insurance underwriting tasks.
- Determine the insurability of members through medical and nonmedical selection.
- Responsible for making the final decision on the file.
- Conduct indepth analysis of medical issues insureds occupations etc.
Responsible for providing customer service.
- Responsible for offering courteous and professional service to clients.
- Communication via phone emails or other means.
- Responsible for providing customer service to brokers.
What youll need
Qualifications
- Oral and written communication (French and English).
- Postsecondary degree in health sciences.
- 2 years of experience in underwriting.
- Demonstrate a deep sense of analysis.
- Ability to make a decision and justify it clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of medical terminology is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office etc.
- Be organized autonomous and have good time management skills.
