Cessnock Multipurpose Childrens Centre provides highquality care for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years across a range of services. As a notforprofit organisation we are deeply committed to community inclusion and helping each child reach their full potential.
About the Role
Reporting to the Director and Board of Directors the Finance Manager will be responsible for all aspects of financial operations compliance and payroll. This pivotal role ensures our Centre remains financially sustainable while meeting all regulatory and reporting obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and present accurate monthly financial reports and annual budgets
Manage payroll accounts payable/receivable and reconciliations
Oversee compliance with taxation and financial reporting obligations (BAS PAYG Super etc.)
Assist in grant applications funding reporting and financial audits
Support staffing budgets and provide HRrelated financial advice
Liaise with auditors funding bodies suppliers and the Centres leadership team
Collaborate with the Director and Board of Directors to develop financial strategies for longterm success.
What youll need
Essential:
Minimum 3 years experience in a finance management role
Tertiary qualifications in Accounting Finance or related field
Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
Strong knowledge of budgeting payroll and compliance reporting
Excellent communication and problemsolving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Desirable:
Experience in childcare education or notforprofit sectors
Knowledge of CCS funding government grants and reporting requirements
