About The Role
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Compliance Risk Value & Trade you will be part of the Line 1 Risk team for the Customer Growth Department. Your focus will be to assist with the design implementation and embedding of our risk and compliance frameworks supporting the Risk Value & Trade Team (RVT).
The Compliance Specialist will drive compliance related activities quality assurance and operational control testing predominately across our Risk & Trade function to build and continuously review enhance and finetune our systems and processes to ensure with comply with our regulatory obligations and manage our commercial risks.
The Compliance Specialist will directly interface with the business as well as secondline Risk & Compliance Business Partner and members of the Legal Team by seeking legal and compliance advice. Such advice is then translated into direction and guidelines which can be operationalised by those frontline teams.
Responsibilities Include:
- Implement first and secondline risk and compliance policies and processes to ensure that regulatory obligations and commercial risks are appropriately identified assessed reported and monitored through control testing.
- Develop maintain and update RVT policies procedures and controls to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and appropriate management of commercial risks.
- Act as key point of contact for breach & incident investigations and work with SMEs (e.g. Line 2 Risk Legal) towards resolution communication and alignment.
- Conduct reviews/oversee assurance of Risk & Trade key business processes and controls to ensure the continued adherence to and effective implementation of policies procedures and regulations.
- Lead the uplift in Risk Culture across RVT.
About You
- Proactive handson delivery style including preparing and socializing compliance related dashboards and other materials.
- Balancing a performance growth and compliance mindset to provide balanced opinions and recommendations.
- Proactive relationship management and consultation / collaboration across key departmental stakeholders.
- Ability to develop and deploy quality assurance and audit style reviews and testing in high volume environments.
- Ability to translate regulatory obligations into plainEnglish statements that are free from interpretation risk.
- Keen interest and some experience in risk and compliance.
- Some experience in control advisory and internal audit / assurance.
