What you need to be successful:
- Multiple levels will be considered for this position with a minimum 2 years of experience in relevant handling qualities experience.
- Bachelors degree with a major in Aerospace Engineering.
- Advanced will be considered as additional experience.
- Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

- Rotorcraft experience is preferred.

We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell V280 Valor Future LongRange Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Armys Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort and a next generation stopfold tiltrotor as part of the DARPA SPRINT program. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and designing upgrade kits for the legacy fleet.
Handling Qualities Engineer
What youll be doing as a Handling Qualities Engineer:
- Aircraft stability and control design and analysis.
- Aircraft sizing activities.
- Interfacing with flight controls avionics pilots and other teams.
- Participate in the conduct analysis and documentation of aircraft flight tests from first flight through certification / qualification.
Skills you can bring to this role:
- Prior experience with the design and certification/qualification of commercial or military aircraft to relevant industry or regulatory standards for handling qualities.
- Experience with flight dynamics and simulation modeling.
- Experience analyzing and reducing wind tunnel and flight test data for incorporation into simulation models.
- Experience with desktop analysis pilotintheloop simulation and aircraft flight test.
- Knowledge of methods used to analyze and troubleshoot flight control law functions.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills with a team player mindset and the ability to prioritize work.
- Good interpersonal and organizational skills are required.
- Demonstrated communication skills needed to brief toplevel management customers and/or large groups on an occasionaltofrequent basis.
