Johnson County Developmental Supports (JCDS) is currently seeking qualified candidates for the position of Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Data Specialist for their operations division. JCDS serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We focus on individuals abilities provide choice driven support and advocate alongside people to live and work in our community. We aspire to build a community that promotes supports and embraces people of all abilities. The Data Analyst brings to the table domain knowledge in which they use to tap into the magic of data and make it meaningful. Under direct supervision this position plays a collaborative role working within the Department and/or across the County to develop business intelligence data to inform decision makers on emerging internal/external trends. This position assists in empowering the department to turn data into information information into insight and insight into business decisions. The first review of candidates will be Monday May 12 2025.
Job Responsibilities will include:
Act as the subject matter expert for data within JCDS understanding the departments systems culture and goals. This person will gather analyze and review data collaborating with teams to retrieve data from the data warehouse. Work with BI tools ensures data security and create of improve data cleaning processes.
Designs data analytics solutions reviews data from various sources and works with the team to help understand business operations. Proactively analyzes data to answer key stakeholder questions.
Identifies ways to improve department performance tracks result optimizes operations and predicts the success of new programs.
Creates data visualization for presentations ensures presentations are understandable and user friendly.
Works with Business Intelligence specialists and stakeholders to understand data needs find solutions and evaluate new data to guide leaders with their insights.
Minimum Job Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Information Systems Statistics Applied Math Business Administration. Department specific degree (ie. Biology) or any other relevant field of study.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements
1 year of experience in data analytics
Experience analyzing data within the human services or healthcare setting.
Experience presenting to small and large groups.
Education/Experience Substitutions:
Education may be substituted for experience.
Physical Environmental and Special Working Conditions:
Lifting: Up to 50 lbs.
Exposure to hazardous materials (bodily fluids).
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
