The Law Society is looking to appoint a dynamic and experienced Committee Coordinator to join our Advocacy and Professional Development team. The Coordinator will ensure a high level of administrative and governance support is provided to the Law Societys Standing Committees and the Advocacy and Professional Development team. We work with 30 Committees covering a variety of areas of substantive law and other matters of importance to our members in the legal profession such as mental health and wellbeing ethics and access to justice involving over 350 members.
This pivotal role has a focus on supporting the efficient and effective operations of Law Society Committees with a particular emphasis on:
Provision of administrative and governance support to the team and our committee members;
Proactively identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of business processes and procedures; and
Leading projects designed to improve systems and outcomes.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Demonstrated high level organisational time management and priority setting skills in relation to committees or similar;
Experience in a similar role working with committees or boards or a role that demonstrates the required knowledge and skills;
Experience preparing and managing papers for committees and working groups including preparing minutes agendas and supporting papers and implementing actions;
The ability to organise your own work and to work under limited direction in a fast paced environment; and
Strong emotional intelligence and people skills allowing you to help our Committees achieve their goals within the strategic framework of the Law Society.
