About This Role
We believe people should love what they do in this role you will be responsible for:
The ProtoTrak Machinist will produce machined parts by setting up and operating various pieces of CNC machinery including lathes and milling centers; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
Job Responsibilities:
Setup and operate ProtoTrak CNC vertical and horizontal machining centers mills by entering instructions including zero and reference points; setting tool registers offsets and compensation; including basic math geometry and trigonometry.
Sets up ProtoTraks CNC lathes by installing and adjusting three and fourjaw chucks tools attachments collets; indicating vices; tramming heads.
Verifies settings by measuring positions firstrun part and sample workpieces adhering to international standards.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions irregularities and continuing needs.
Documents actions by completing production and quality work orders and logs.
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Qualifications
10 years experience with High School diploma or completion of vocational training
Skills:
Required:
Minimum of 10 years of ProtoTrak experience at control
Ability to work utilizing a partial face respirator (<5% of time)
Ability to perform CNC Machinist Job Duties listed.
CNC setup and operation
Ability to lift 70 pounds
Ability to gain Security Clearance
Ability to show thorough understanding of basic tools.
Desired:
Experience with MAZATROL controller programming (5 years)
Experience with HAAS controller programming (5 years)
Understanding of GCode
Knowledge of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T)
