Role Summary
Splunk AppDynamics a leader in observability solutions for both cloud and onpremises environments empowers customers with endtoend visibility across their entire application ecosystems cloud onpremises or hybrid. Our team is dedicated to developing maintaining and supporting SaaS and onpremises offerings within the observability product suite.
Were looking for a Principle Platform Engineer to build upon our application and data platform as we continue to innovate on application observability. We move fast and iterate quickly. Meet the Team (Optional)
SelfHosted is the heart of the AppDynamics onpremises architecture. We provide the platform for applications to process millions of metrics on customers onpremises solutions. We provide solutions which can be self hosted on bare metal VMware ESXi AWS Azure and KVM. We help applications to ingest process and store all the data that power the dashboards that our customers rely on for observing their infrastructure and their applications.
What youll get to do
- Craft and build highly scalable platform solutions
- Work with a team of extraordinarily capable and dedicated peers all the way from engineering to product management and customer support
- Work in an open environment work together to get things done and adapt to the teams changing needs
- Leverage technologies including Kafka Elasticsearch Docker and Kubernetes across different onpremises and cloud environments like AWS and Azure
- lead critical initiatives for the organisation
Musthave Qualifications
- 15 years of platform engineering experience in designing and developing highly scalable distributed applications products and services.
- Proficiency in GoLang Python and Java programming language along with Shell scripting.
- Solid understanding of tech stacks like container registry Kubernetes (mandate) k8s ingress certificates Elasticsearch Kafka MySQL PostgreSQL Redis Helm Charts
- Hands on experience on different build pipeline like Jenkins/TeamCity handling k8s workflows (MicroK8S experience is a big plus)
- Have built installers for virtualized and cloud based systems
- Understanding of microservices design with expertise in Dockers and Kubernetes.
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Ability to multitask and adapt quickly to changing requirements scope and priorities.
- Optimize data pipelines storage systems and query engines for performance and efficiency.
- Work closely with product teams data engineers software developers and product managers to deliver on business goals.
- Mentor team members in architecture principles coding standard processes and system design.
- Ensure robust monitoring logging and alerting systems for proactive issue detection and resolution.
- Support CI/CD processes and automate testing for data systems

- Added advantage of having an experience in working on Cloud Observability Space.
