Job Description:
To supervise and evaluate pharmaceutical services in an assigned area. To ensure pharmacy operations conform to all applicable internal and external regulations are fiscally sound and promote quality patient care. Provides pharmaceutical care as needed.
Key Requirements and Responsibilities Include:
Demonstrated strength in leadership and communication
Possess data analytical organizational and problemsolving skills
Assisting in the investigation of suspected drug diversion incidents or illegal procurement of controlled substances
Identify deficiencies areas of risk for diversion and make recommendations for process improvements
Actively develop and participate in multidisciplinary education activities relating to drug diversion impairment and controlled substance handling
Establish and conduct random specific audits throughout the organization
Work collaboratively with all relevant departments and serve as a controlled substance and diversion resource for all staff
Proven ability to effectively implement change and drive progress throughout the healthsystem
Develop policies education modules and ensure accurate documentation of controlled substances
Requires travel between facilities
Performs other duties as assigned
Bachelors degree in Pharmacy and two (2) years of experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Licensed Pharmacist by the Alabama Board of Pharmacy (ALBOP) required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Omnicell or Pyxis dispensing cabinets automation
Experience with Cerner or Epic electronic medication record
Knowledge of compliance agencies and regulations (e.g. DEA TJC ALBOP etc.)
Strong people management skills
