ABOUT US
Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara Yankunytjatjara (NPY) Womens Council was founded and is still led governed and directed by women from the NPY region. It was created to give a voice to women across 26 desert communities in the crossborder regions of Western Australia South Australia and the Northern Territory. Today we continue to provide progressive innovative and evidencebased work in service delivery advocacy and support.
At its core NPY Womens Council is about family and community walytja. Our purpose is to work with women children and their families of the Ngaanyatjarra Pitjantjatjara and Yankunytjatjara region in central Australia. Our role is to work side by side and help increase their capacity to lead safe and healthy lives with improved life choices.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Child and Family Wellbeing Service is made up of three programs; Child Nutrition Child and Family Intensive Support Service (Walytjapiti) and Child Advocacy.
The primary focus of the Child and Family Wellbeing Service (CFWS) is to deliver targeted efficient and effective community services within the NPY region seeking the best possible outcomes with regard to improving the quality of life for Anangu children and communities.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Walytjapiti Case Manager will provide therapeutic trauma informed case management with families who are at risk of entering the child protection system.
The Case Manager will be supported in their work by the wider Walytjapiti team and will have access to additional support and supervision as required.
FIFO: The roster is a 42 day cycle which will involve roughly 18 days on (with 3 paid respite days in that period) and 24 days off. All travel to and from the employees home city will be paid for and all required accommodation. Accommodation and vehicle is provided during the 18 days on and transit day.
ABOUT YOU
You will have qualifications in Social Work Counselling Psychology Community Services and / or relevant experience and demonstrated case management or community development experience with families and children.
