Job Description
Job Title:Test Engineer SC Cleared or SC Eligible
Location: Yorkshire and the Humber (Leeds Hub)
Key Responsibilities (Individual role within a team):
- Develop automated test scripts using tools like Selenium (Java and Maven) Cypress Playwright or similar frameworks
- Contribute to test planning by identifying test cases that should be automated and determining the best testing approaches
- Run automated tests analyze results and report defects with clear documentation for developers
- Investigate failures collaborate with developers to resolve issues and improve test reliability
- Experience of working in a complex multidisciplinary environment leading testing activities and engaging with multiple stakeholders
Key Skills/Knowledge:
- Handson experience in Selenium Automation Testing (Java and Maven)
- API Testing (Manual using Postman/Insomnia; Automation using Java Rest Assured)
- Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (Cypress/Playwright)
- Knowledge on Docker/CICD
Experience Required:
- Experience in different testing frameworks BDD TDD Cucumber TestNG/JUnit open source framework
- Understanding of framework integration with Jenkins/GitLab (continuous integration)
- Knowledge on JMeter
- Experience of working in agile methodology
- Knowledge of Accessibility Testing (WCAG axe/wave/arc)
Special Working Conditions:
- Be able to work in hybrid setting and collaborate with other team members
Additional Remarks:
- Undertake client interview and technical assessment
- Be SC Cleared or be eligible for SC Clearance
- Must have worked continuously in the UK for more than 5 years
Person Specification:
- Excellent communication skills and an open and transparent approach
- Demonstrate a collaborative and flexible working approach
- Able to work with other Subject Matter Experts to ensure the service meets the needs of its users
- Delivering transition knowledge transfer and handover of code
- A clear appreciation of the importance of technical documentation as a means of ensuring ongoing maintainability of systems
