Job Description

Senior Mechanical Engineer Materials and Corrosion Doha Qatar

Description
Overview:

We are looking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer Materials and Corrosion for a national oil and gas operator in Doha Qatar.

Candidates must have a minimum of 10 years of relevant post graduate experience of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry.

Fluency in English is a must.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and inhouse site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to; engineering studies FEED detailed design and commissioning.

Ensure the required technical framework including QHSE environmental and local regulation assurance practices engineering standards personal safety and process safety policies are incorporated and followed in workscopes and whilst conducting Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities. Also review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines codes standards and practices.

Support Engineering Department to review update and apply standards and amendments to external standards.

Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for providing timely delivery of technical services to meet the project requirements.

Coordinate engineering designs develop and review multidisciplinary workscopes for projects and other engineering activities. Ensure the workscope is comprehensive and clear.

Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with contracted organisations to resolve technical issues.

Develop update and monitor schedules for inhouse engineering activities contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities and effective project delivery.

Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance.

Review and evaluate the Contract Changes/ Variation to approved guidelines and practices.

Support the development of personal technical competency and skills and those of Coworkers.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.

Chartered/ Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable.

Minimum 10 years of relevant post graduate experience of which 6 years should be related to Oil & Gas industry.

Ability to identify and utilise relevant engineering standards and Codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering.

Proven ability to manage time cost and quality in engineering projects within a multiple project environment.

Fluency in English language with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations.
