Job Description

Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Raleigh NC office location.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • Complete operational analysis corridor studies traffic studies innovative intersection implementation traffic calming and safety analysis;
  • Bicycle/pedestrian/multimodal feasibility analysis design and implementation;
  • Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;
  • Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;
  • Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates
  • Complete field observation inspection and data collection dutie
  • Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and
  • Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.

Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:

  • A bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
  • Ideal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning
  • Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential
  • Knowledge of Traffic Analyses Planning Studies Traffic Safety Traffic Forecasting Traffic Signal Design ITS Design and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred
  • Bicycle/pedestrian/multimodal project experience preferred
  • Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferred
  • Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and
  • PE/EIT preferred.
