Job Description
Timmons Group is seeking a Civil Project Engineer II/III Traffic Analysis and Planning candidate to join our Traffic Analysis and Planning Group located in our Raleigh NC office location.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- Complete operational analysis corridor studies traffic studies innovative intersection implementation traffic calming and safety analysis;
- Bicycle/pedestrian/multimodal feasibility analysis design and implementation;
- Complete calculations using engineering formulas and skills and/or utilizes computers in order to solve problems;
- Perform research and writes objective summary reports which are used in the completion of the project work;
- Assist in the preparation of engineering planning schedules and cost estimates
- Complete field observation inspection and data collection dutie
- Communicate with client staff and internal design team; and
- Communicate results/recommendations to the general public.
Skills/Requirements of a successful candidate include but are not limited to:
- A bachelors or masters degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Ideal candidates would have between two and six years of experience in Transportation / Traffic Engineering and Planning
- Synchro/SIDRA/HCS proficiency is essential
- Knowledge of Traffic Analyses Planning Studies Traffic Safety Traffic Forecasting Traffic Signal Design ITS Design and/or Traffic Signal Timing is preferred
- Bicycle/pedestrian/multimodal project experience preferred
- Basic CAD and/or GIS knowledge preferred
- Experience working with DOT and/or localities; and
- PE/EIT preferred.
