Job Description

The Senior DigitalProject Analyst isa member of the Mayors Office of Innovation and serves as a program analyst for highimpact projects. Analytical responsibilities will include convening roundtables with leaders of City Departments defining policy requirements for databases and technology tools and identifying and executing on opportunities to drive operational excellence.  

The Senior DigitalProject Analyst will assist with daytoday operations and projects working with team members that include data specialists engineers policy analysts innovation analysts and creative communications specialists. The role coordinates closely not only with Innovation Team members but also with the Office of Digital Services the Chief Data Officer the Mayors policy staff and City departments. 

Essential Functions 

  • Establish strong relationships with project stakeholders including City staff private and nonprofit sector leaders and San Francisco residents 

  • Work closely with stakeholders to analyze operational needs develop a project scope deliverables resource needs work plan budget and timing for the given initiative. Translate stakeholder input into system specifications and business requirements. Conduct analyses (needs analysis feasibility analysis cost analysis) to ensure technical and operational alignment with City objectives 

  • Coordinateand delegatecrossdepartmental initiatives ensure smooth execution effective communication and shared accountability 

  • Develop reports for management and stakeholders provide support for interpreting and applying data insights for decisionmaking 

  • Conduct researchfor policy priorities for the City and Mayor as related to 

  • Lead the ideageneration process to identify pain points and potential solutions with an emphasis on humancentered design 

  • Support City staff in implementation planning and strategies for new systems or improvements 

  • Develop outcome and indicator measuring tools used for performance monitoring and communicating progress 


Qualifications :

These minimum qualifications establish the education training experience special skills and/or license(s) which are required for employment in the classification. Please note additional qualifications (i.e. special conditions) may apply to a particular position and will be stated on the exam/job announcement. 

Education: An associate degree OR its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units i.e. at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units AND: 

Experience: Three (3) years of experience in project management or program management  

Substitution: Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a yearforyear basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units / fortyfive (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter unitsOR Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.


Additional Information :

Compensation: $126958 to $159744 annually ($61.0375 to $76.8000 hourly)

Nature of Work 
The incumbent must be willing to work onsite at San Francisco on site five days a week with the possibility of one day remote for a total of 40 hours as determined by the department. Travel within San Francisco may be required.

Parttime experience may also be used to meet experience requirements. One year of fulltime employment is equivalent to 2000 hours. Any overtime hours worked above forty (40) hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine fulltime employment.
