You will be joining our Compute team a core component of our technological fabric. This teams mission is critical: to establish a robust scalable platform that enables our engineers across the globe to deploy and manage services efficiently. Key Responsibilities:
Architect and Enhance Our Platform: You will take ownership of significant system components designing and implementing scalable solutions that handle complex operational loads with high reliability and security.
Drive Automation and Efficiency: Innovate and implement cuttingedge automation solutions at both the infrastructure (AWS) and application levels reducing manual overhead accelerating deployment cycles and increasing system resilience.
Holistic System Outlook: Assess the ecosystem as a whole to identify technological and systemic improvements. Your strategic oversight will help in preemptively addressing potential scalability and reliability issues before they impact our services.
Active Collaboration and Leadership: While you will be deeply involved in handson technical work your role also entails leading projects and collaborating with crossfunctional teams to share knowledge mentor peers and refine our engineering practices.
Embrace and Extend CloudNative Practices: With ongoing investments in AWS and Kubernetes you will have the opportunity to lead initiatives that expand our capabilities in the cloudnative landscape from developing Kubernetes operators to enhancing our service mesh infrastructure.

What will you be working on
Help scale connect and secure our platform infrastructure.
Automate our core platform components either at the AWS or Application level.
Working handson in our Compute team. We are looking for keen engineers who want to build a firstclass platform for product engineers in Wise streamlining how fast an idea can be delivered and scaled into production.
We are investing in building cloud native applications backed by AWS as well as scaling our use of Kubernetes so curiosity and learning is key.
What do you need
We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
Experience coding in GoLang and interacting/building APIs
Experience in building highly reliable scalable secure automated cloud native platforms (preferably on AWS)
Production experience with containerisation and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes)
Nice to haves:
Solid working knowledge of systems and software engineering fundamentals (algorithms data structures OO)
Good sysadmin skills (Linux debugging issues with disk networking OS performance etc)
Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools (Ansible Terraform etc)
