Job Description

Birds cleaner affordable and ondemand mobility solutions are available in cities globally. We take a collaborative communityfirst approach to micromobility. Bird partners closely with the cities in which it operates to provide a reliable and affordable transportation option for people who live and work there.

Role Overview:

The Manager of Vehicle Operations manages a team of Vehicle Associates focused on the availability and health of Birds fleet of small electric vehicles. This team drives repair throughput vehicle quality and inventory management ensuring vehicles are available to Birds riders to maximize revenue generated per vehicle. The OM directly oversees the vehicle associates and provides indirect support of the repair operations managed by Birds local market teams and Birds third party partners. The OM drives process improvement by managing and hoc projects and working cross functionally to improve systems and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a minimum of a three person team tasked with improving repair throughput and vehicle quality in their designated markets or facilities. This role is in charge of driving professional development for their team through routine feedback and candor.
  • Possesses expert knowledge of Birds fleet of electric vehicles and all related systems and processes and develops this expertise in their team.
  • Own labor productivity repair quality inventory accuracy and safety & compliance for an assigned portfolio of directlymanaged repair facilities.
  • Manage projects with crossfunctional teams focused on process implementation improvement and efficiency for repair operations (internal or external) that are not directly managed.
  • Work crossfunctionally to support the market operations supply chain and product & engineering teams to champion efforts to improve vehicle quality availability and longevity.
  • Oversees process development implementation standardization and adherence for vehicle operations across the region.
  • Ensure our facilities are safe and compliant environments based on the global standards establishing and building on our foundation to Birds safety and operational processes

MustHave:

    • 3 years of experience in strategy / planning / investment banking / consulting / business intelligence or related
    • Ability to influence crossfunctional partners to drive mutual success
    • Exceptionally analytical and datadriven able to break down and quantitatively frame complex business problems
    • Highgrowth operations and/or startup experience (experience with service operations is a plus)
    • Knowledge and experience with Google Suite tools (Sheets Slides etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

      • Bachelors degree from a competitive university in quantitative/technical field (engineering business management economics preferred)
      • Experience in service operations
      • 2 years of people management experience setting goals prioritizing team activities and providing developmental opportunities and feedback
      • Lean manufacturing/Six Sigma experience
