Job Description
The Divisional Finance organization at SPE provides business support and partnership for all finance related matters for their group(s) primarily ensuring that strong financial discipline and analysis is in place to support the decision making across each division and SPE towards achieving its goals and objectives.
Reporting to the Divisional CFO of Corporate & Central Functions the VP of Finance is accountable for the financial planning reporting and analysis for the Corporate Functions and CentrallyHeld costs. The role is based in Culver City and has oversight over a team of FP&A members.
The successful candidate for the role will have handson experience and a strong track record of financial reporting and analysis process improvement interaction with senior operational and financial management and excellent critical thinking analytical collaboration presentation & communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the preparation and consolidation of the annual Budget MRP and Forecast processes with primary focus on providing financial analysis and insights
- Track performance relative to budgets and forecasts review actual results and concisely explain variances against budgets and forecasts based on commercial and operating drivers
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly/quarterly financial results presentations that provide important insights and participate in executive review meetings
- Develop and optimize reports that provide actionable insight into the levers of the business
- Support management with ad hoc financial market and trend analyses to prioritize strategic initiatives or investment decisions
- Provide daytoday business & financial partnership to the following departments
- Divisional Finance
- Finance Transformation & Enablement
- Develop and manage team members including establishing priorities setting objectives and providing guidance and feedback
- Manage expenses and key business metrics across SPEs centrallyheld costs (e.g. Fringe costs longterm executive compensation etc.)
- Develop and streamline FP&A processes to mitigate risk and find value within the business
Requirements:
We are looking for an exceptional individual with strong critical thinking decision making leadership and analytical & financial skills. You should have handson experience performing financial analyses and delivering clear insights. Ideally you will have spent a portion of your career in a financial role supporting Corporate or centralizedsupport departments. More specifically you should meet many if not all of the following requirements:
- 10 years of relevant professional experience including corporate finance consulting or similar analytical role
- 5 years of management experience including managing developing and leading a team
- Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance; Masters degree and/or MBA preferred
- Exceptional financial modeling skills in Excel including the ability to drive process optimization using Excel
- Intermediate to advanced skills in SAP
- An agile learner with a highly analytical mindset strong technical finance skills and solid business acumen
- Change agent adept at successfully challenging the status quo
- Excellent communication and influencing skills across a variety of stakeholders such as peer teams nonfinance teams and executive management
- Communication includes verbal (inperson & virtual) written (memos and emails) and presentations
- SAP Advanced Excel & other Office Suite Tableau/PowerBI/SAC
