Supervises staff performing laboratory support services for multiple labs. Staff performs work such as phlebotomy specimen collection labeling glass washing processing and delivery. Responsible for meeting quality assurance standards as defined in the laboratory operating procedures.
To act as a liaison between the Clinical Laboratory and all hospital and nonhospital sites submitting laboratory specimens.- Supervise the duties of Hospital Lab Technician I Hospital Lab Technician 2 and Hospital Lab Technician 3. Assist with managing and supervising HLTI Phlebotomist when needed.
- Provide instruction related to tests billing. And information result inquiry and reporting courier service etc.
- Act as an ongoing liaison between the laboratory and all nonhospital sites submitting specimen. Followup problems related to all aspects of the client and laboratory relationship.
- Coordinate external courier service for shipment of samples between Mt. Zion Mission Bay and Parnassus and other satellite locations when needed.
- Monitor freezers and refrigerators temperature daily in addition to daily check of centrifuges.
- Monitor supplies according to processing needs.
- Resolve problems associated with the central processing section.
- Monitor attendance accurately record sick leave usage and tardiness. Arrange replacement coverage when a schedule employee is unable to work.
- Ensure employees are notified about changes in laboratory procedures.
- Maintain the weekly workstation rotation schedule.
- Review and conduct performance evaluations on HLTIs and HCLAs
- Participate in screening applicants for jobs and provide input in selection process.
- Perform additional duties project and/or special assignments when requested.
- Manage and support Send Out Operations
The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.
Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.
The salary range for this position is $69700 $149900 (Annual Rate).
