The Finance Departments Revenue Division Permits and Taxes team is hiring an Administrative Analyst. This position focuses on revenue compliance and monitoring of several City tax and fee programs under general supervision and collaboration with the teams Program Specialist. The responsibilities of this position include research related to various industries related to the Citys revenue programs data analysis report preparation and significant involvement with the Citys Cannabis Business Operations Tax (CBOT) as this position serves as the primary point of contact for the CBOT. Additionally this position will support the Permits and Taxes team in various other capacities including analysis of the Business Operations Tax maintenance of various special business permit programs and assistance with the teams tax and cashiering application.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the administration of governmental taxes and fee programs and will have substantial research analytical and reporting skills. Additionally the ideal candidate will be a strong communicator a team player familiar with municipal taxes fees and standard tax audit processes and able to multitask independently. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and tax applications as well as a general understanding of financial statements and accounting is highly desired.

2. Training and Experience Exam: (Weighted 100%) The questionslocatedat the end of the application are the Training and Experience (T&E) Exam.Responses to the T&E questions will be rated and scored. This exam will evaluate the relevance level and progression of a candidates educationtrainingand experience. The exam score willdetermineyour ranking on the eligible list for this job. 3.Eligibility: Candidates who pass the Training and Experience Test will be placed on the eligible list. The hiring department may contact candidates for interview at any time during the life of the oneyear list. Candidates eligibility expires one year from the date of notification of a passing score for theAdministrative Analystexamination.
4.Screening Committee: (Pass/Fail) All candidates that pass the examination and are in one of the top three ranks will have their applicationforwardedto the hiring department for review. The hiring department will select the most competitive applications for further consideration. Human Resources will only evaluate employment applications for the minimum qualifications asstatedon the job announcement for applications selected by the hiring department.
5.Conditional Hire:Upon receipt of a conditional offer the selected candidate must complete and pass LiveScan/fingerprinting. If applicable candidates may also need to pass a preemployment medical exam controlledsubstanceand/or alcohol test andpossessany required licensure or certification prior to receiving a start date from the Department. Failure to meet these prerequisites will be grounds for withdrawal of your conditional offer of employment.
