The Associate Manager Donor Relations strengthens relationships with individual donors and prospects through personalized communication and recognition programs to retain contributions increase support and acquire new supporters. This role is responsible for maximizing the engagement and financial contributions of individuals through direct response (mail and email) fundraising targeted communications automations personalized outreach meetings and events and stewardship activities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Drafts and designs personalized and segmented direct mail to retain current donors reengage lapsed supporters and acquire new supporters as well as engage affinity groups.
- Develops digital content in coordination with the mail and for separate online fundraisers including the annual Bar Membership renewal process.
- Creates content for various stewardships including donor acknowledgments and recognition bulk updates and impact reports.
- Manages a portfolio of midtier and emerging major gift donors through personalized outreach such as phone calls emails handwritten cards virtual or inperson meetings and special events.
- Serves as an initial point of contact for general inquiries. Follows up on Presidents Reception invitations to and recognition for individual ticket purchases or supporters and attends Pro Bono Center or D.C. Bar events to cultivate existing donors and identify new prospects.
- Partners with the Senior Leadership Team various legal clinics and programs to proactively engage prospects and donors based on their respective philanthropic interests and the related program priorities.
- Maintains and updates records of individual donors and prospects and related donor relations activity.
- Creates coordinates and updates automations surveys and workflows to qualify and cultivate midtier major gift and planned giving prospects.
- Tracks and analyzes responses to direct mail digital fundraising and automation to make further enhancements and improvements.
- Ensures direct response and individual giving are integrated with other fundraising priorities and strategies and special events.
- Share relevant donor correspondence to improve overall engagement and communications opportunities.
- Ensures donors receive proper acknowledgement and recognition for their contributions and sponsorships.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Prior experience in direct mail digital fundraising and individual giving.
- Experience writing inspiring solicitation letters and emails updates and impact reports for nonprofit organizations.
- Solid understanding of moves management and experience engaging donors and prospects.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office 365 including Word Excel Outlook Teams and SharePoint.
- Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working environment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Must be detailoriented and deadlinedriven. Able to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. Must work well in a team environment and be able to interact including inperson with Bar members volunteers vendors the public and Pro Bono Center and Bar employees.
- Must work well under pressure possess excellent organizational abilities and be able to manage several priorities in a day.
- Must be adaptable creative and selfmotivated.
- Ability to handle and maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive information.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelors degree.
- Experience with recurring giving peertopeer fundraising midtier giving major gifts or planned giving.
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS as well as concepts of automation.
- Familiarity with Nimble AMS SalesForce Marketing or similar systems.
- Background in successful social media fundraising.
