DescriptionThe purpose of this role is to administer all purchasing activities within an assigned area. Responsible for negotiation and documentation of assigned contracts and obtaining goods and services at the best value. Fosters relations provides technical and specialized support to requestors.
In this position the individual will support purchasing for Church owned facilities. Responsible for seeking best value negotiation obtaining quotes processing purchase orders expediting purchase orders and project management to ensure ordered goods are delivered to the desired location in a timely manner. Fosters business relationships with fellow team members coworkers and stakeholders in sister departments Project Managers and Finance Managers.
Responsibilities- Complete required work on assigned requests including price analysis vendor analysis and followup of basic to moderately complex and costly purchases to see that orders are delivered timely accurately and at best value. Provide service to requestors by explaining policy resolving issues expediting providing product information and support of a specialized or technical nature.
- Understands and can explain international shipping terms policies and regulations.
- Provides technical support and training to fellow team members coworkers and stakeholders in sister departments. Serves as a resource and subject matter expert to other Purchasing employees in regional Area Purchasing Offices.
- Source goods and services through the entire process.
- Supplier relationship and Partner relationship management: fosters good relations with suppliers and partners ensures high performance and high partner satisfaction.
- Complete special projects and initiatives as assigned.
QualificationsRequired Qualifications:
- BA/BS degree and at least 2 years of related experience or equivalent experience combination of education and experience required;
- Seasoned professional with commensurate understanding and experience in application of effective purchasing principles;
- up to 15% domestic and international travel for up to 2 weeks at a time;
- ability to use a computer and learn new technologies quickly;
- excellent negotiation skills.
- Must be willing to work in the office 5 days per week during orientation and at least 3 days per week after orientation. (Tuesdays and Fridays are possible remote days.) This position is subject to a full return to 5 days in the office at any time.
