You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailThe Director of AI Model Risk Management is a unique risk governance advisor and a crossfunction risk coordinator at the forefront of AI adoption within Manulife. As part of the Group Model Risk Management (MRM) team you will play a pivotal role to advise global stakeholders in supporting the safe secure and efficient integration of AI technologies/models. This position is crucial for accelerating AI adoption enhancing operational efficiency and reducing compliance costs across the company. You will have the chance to work with Model Risk Management teams to develop cuttingedge AI governance frameworks and advanced model governance & validation techniques utilizing artificial intelligence. Reporting to the AVP Model Risk Management this position is based in the Toronto Head Office.
By establishing a responsible AI governance framework and coordinating risk assessments you will ensure robust AI model risk management. By adopting GenAI enablement in model risk governance and validation you will be part of effort revolutionizing MRM operations. The position directly impacts the companys ability to capitalize on AI opportunities ultimately supporting Manulifes strategic goals.
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement an AI Model Risk Management (MRM) policy in collaboration with Advanced Analytics Model Validation and Governance team (AAMVG) and global stakeholders.
Coordinate global risk stakeholders to perform comprehensive risk assessments and participate in AI model risk evaluations.
Establish or support a responsible AI governance framework to ensure compliance and risk mitigation.
Facilitate AI/GenAI enablement for model validation research and compliance training.
Develop AIfacilitated training programs including static audio/video content for companywide model risk compliance training.
Serve as a key advisor for AI model risk governance providing insights and recommendations to senior management.
Promote GenAI adoption in model risk governance and model validation
Required Qualifications:
Post graduate degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science Statistics Computer Science or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in model risk management with a focus on AI/ML models.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor and influence other risk professionals.
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements related to model risk and AI/ML.
Excellent analytical problemsolving and communication skills.
Experience with programming languages and tools commonly used in data science such as Python R TensorFlow or similar.
Deep knowledge of corporate governance such as legal risk and compliance is a plus.

Salary range is expected to be between
$105750.00 CAD $190350.00 CADIf you are applying for this role outside of the primary location please contact for the salary range for your location. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions geography and relevant jobrelated factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
