Department: Construction & Renovation
Reporting To: Director of Projects & Procurement
Position Status: FullTime
FLSA Status: Exempt (Salaried)
Location: Corporate Offices Houston TX


Job Purpose

Ashford Communities is hiring a Bilingual Construction Manager with a strong background in multifamily construction and renovation projects. This role involves leading projects coordinating with department leads and ensuring timely budgetconscious project completion. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills strategic project oversight and handson leadership skills. The candidate must be a proactive problem solver highly organized and capable of leading both subcontractors and inhouse teams. Responsibilities and Duties

Construction Management

  • Manage daytoday field operations across multiple active projects ensuring scope schedule and quality goals are met
  • Execute interior/exterior projects across multiple properties.
  • Collaborate with Project Manager to develop and maintain construction schedules coordinate critical path activities and upgrade progress reporting as well as tracking changes in cost scope and personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards building codes and company policies.
  • Work collaboratively with other leads Project Manager (Plumbing) and (Electrical) to align project timelines and scopes.
  • Monitor daily project progress prepare reports and address any issues or delays promptly.
  • Oversee quality control and ensure final deliverables meet Ashfords standards of excellence.
  • Manage materials subcontractors and internal resources for project execution.
  • Provide handson support as needed and serve as a point of escalation for projectrelated concerns.
  • Provide weekly safety training to ensure ongoing safety education and awareness.
  • Lead punch list walkthroughs and project turnover.

Structural Team Leadership

  • Supervise train and lead the structural and interior projects team.
  • Assign labor and equipment resources to active projects.
  • Collaborate with thirdparty engineers and city inspectors for sign offs and inspections.

Work Environment

  • Combination of field work (site visits inspections) and office work (scheduling reporting financial management).
  • Some weekend work or afterhours availability may be required based on project demands.
  • Team culture is high priority so a positive and willing attitude is a must.
Requirements

Qualifications

Experience

  • 5 years of experience in construction/renovation projects preferably in multifamily.
  • Experience coordinating with inhouse trade crews and subcontractors.

Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge of construction methods scheduling and field operations.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing electrical and general trades.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints plans and specifications.

Technical Proficiency

Proficiency or ability to learn basic project management software (e.g. Asana Procore Buildertrend Microsoft Project or equivalent) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel Word Outlook).

Communication

  • Must be able to speak both English and Spanish.

  • Can collaborate seamlessly within a team and work independently when required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong leadership problemsolving and time management abilities.
  • High emotional intelligence when dealing with field crews subs and clients.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability.

Certifications

  • OSHA 30 Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
