We are currently seeking to add a Project Manager to our team.
Position Title:Project Manager
Reports to:Area Manager
Department:Projects
Work Location:Yellowknife NT
Work Schedule: This position is expected to be on a rotation of two weeks on two weeks off
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for all aspects of the project over its entire lifespan (plan execute monitor and finalize) according to deadlines and approved budget.
Work Location
This position will be responsible for managing projects primarily in the Northern Territories and will require travel to our North of 60 project sites. Travel uplift accommodations and flights are provided or paid for by KBL.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurate estimation of civil earthworks environmental pipeline and/or demolition projects.
- Ensuring projects are executed in accordance with contracts drawings and specifications.
- Ensuring projects meet or exceed project goals in regards to Safety Cost Productivity Schedule Profitability and QA/QC.
- Responsible for continual cost control management and forecasting of projects including daily review and approval of daily LEMs.
- Review and approval of required project administration and documentation.
- Manage project contract agreements to ensure they are reviewed processed and executed.
- Prepare and collect progress billings and holdback receivables in a timely manner.
- Procure & manage subcontractors and suppliers.
- Communicate with the client during project execution and develop & maintain client relationships.
- Negotiate contracts change management and claims.
- Provide leadership in safety by ensuring all company client and legislated Safety policies and procedures are met or exceeded.
- Ensure all necessary project safety provisions and procedures are implemented on each and every project.
- Mentor site supervisors to ensure they are competentin the input of field data capture and job costing.
Physical Requirements
This position requires long periods of sitting data entry and computer work for extended periods. You are responsiblefor working in a safe and proper manner utilizing Workplace Ergonomics to avoid injury to oneself and to others.
Qualifications
- Proficient knowledge of environmental work in Canadas far North
- Postsecondary education Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science Degree or equivalent Engineering Technologist program.
- A combination of education and fieldbased experience may also be considered.
- Proficient computer skills. (MS Office & MS Project at a minimum)
- 510 years of relevant Project Management experience related to Oil & Gas Construction Demolition Earthworks Pipeline or Environmental Remediation/Reclamation.
- Knowledge and experience in heavy equipment operations will be an asset.
- Experience in dewatering and water treatment would be a definite asset.
- Survey experience would also be a definite asset.
- Work and/or travel in varied terrains weather conditions isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
- Can work well as a team member or independently with little direction.
- Must be reliable mature punctual motivated.
- Strong detail orientation with computer skills.
- Solid communication and customer service skills
