The Per Diem Practice Assistant II for the Division of Otolaryngology supports the administrative aspects of the division to help on an as needed basis. This role is under the direct support of the Senior Administrative Director.
The Otolaryngology Division is comprised of 14 Surgeons 4 Nurse Practitioners 10 Audiologists and 5 Speech Language Therapists. There are 11 full time Practice Assistants that support the daily practices of our clinicians. The role of the per diem Practice Assistant II is to provide float coverage to the admins during times of absences and preplanned time away. The Per Diem Practice Assistant will be trained on each providers individual practices to widely support the division administratively.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Duties and Responsibilities:
assigned to specific providers workloads depending on the day of week and coverage need
Perform duties under moderate supervision with intermediate to advanced proficiency in administrative skills
Act as a super user for scheduling registration and billing systems. Provide training and assistance to others in these areas
May schedule OR cases
Provide cross coverage as needed; including our Head and Neck surgical admins at Dana Farber Cancer Institute
Assist with special projects as directed.
Follow HIPAA guidelines for the management of patient privacy and confidentiality
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications External
Level of education required:
Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
Work experience required:
- Minimum of one year applicable work experience required
- Some additional training in office systems or other post high school education preferred.
