Hersheypark amusement park spans 121acres and welcomes guests to experience Hersheypark Happy all year long! As the largest amusement park in Pennsylvania Hersheypark is home to more than 70 rides including 15 coasters and 20 kiddie rides as well as a zoo and an entire water park.
The Dark Nights Technician at Hersheypark is responsible for the operation and upkeep of Attractions/Mazes for a Halloweenthemed experience within the amusement park.

Job Duties:
Assist the Technical Director on all show nights monitoring and up keeping set decoration mechanical animatronic atmospheric and audio visual aspects of themed walkthru attractions as well as exterior scare zones.
Ensure all set decoration elements as well as walls/flats are free of damage and/or defects.
Ensure all animatronic mechanical and special FX elements within the attractions are free of damage and functioning properly. Ensure proper timing and execution of intended scares and experiences are occurring consistently.
Ensure the proper functioning of all theatrical elements including the nightly operation and upkeep of equipment regular assessment of conditions within the overall experience and execution of adjustments as needed.
Perform general productionrelated tasks as directed to ensure the show and all show elements operate at maximum efficiency/performance.
Power up and down all attraction equipment and dynamic elements at the top and bottom of each show ensuring strict adherence to proper procedure as per manufacturer/client specifications.
Perform nightly inspections and deliver assessment reports at the end of each shift.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old or older on date of applying
Must have 2 years in decoration experience within the industry of set design. Must have prior experience working with live events.
This position is designated as Safety Sensitive and requires successful completion and passing of a preemployment drug test.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of pneumatic systems including all parts of the interconnected components and use of compressed air to power animatronics.
Must have a creative eye and be able to follow creative directions.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate verbally including delivering safety instructions/directions verbal cues and speaking clearly into microphones and radios.
Must have the ability to effectively communicate nonverbally including maintaining eye contact and giving/receiving safety hand signals.
Must have the ability to comprehend instructions (verbal demonstrated and/or written) and retain information.
Must have the ability to remain alert and vigilant at all times.
Must display a positive attitude an eagerness to learn and professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.
Must be comfortable working in a highpressure and fastpaced environment.
Must be able to work well with other teams along with the performers within the attraction. This includes the production creative and talent teams.
Have working knowledge of using basic tools safely and general carpentry experience.
Must have a basic understanding of lighting and sound equipment along with prior experience with atmospheric machines.
Job Demands:
Must be able to work a variable schedule with shifts from 2:30PM 12:00AM.
Must have open availability on the weekends in September October and early November.
Physical requirements would include ability to stand (for up to five hours at a time) walk bend at the waist and knees and have repeated manual dexterity and the ability to push pull and reach above shoulder level and lifting up to thirtyfive (35) without assistance.
Physical requirements include the ability to stand (for up to six hours at a time) and walk.
Employees are subject to a variety of weather conditions including but not limited to: extreme heat sun exposure cold and inclement weather. Work is almost exclusively outdoors.
Work environment can be extremely loud at times.
Occasional work in high places (up to 50 feet) and climbing stairs is required.
