Position Summary
Academic Radiation Oncologist The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha NE is actively recruiting a Radiation Oncologist to focus on Genitourinary (GU) while contributing to the care of thoracic oncology patients. Our vision is to be the leader in multidisciplinary patient care by employing advanced technology and innovative treatment techniques. Parallel to the development of the clinical program we are placing an emphasis on the continued expansion of our research programs. With this opportunity you will find: Fully accredited medical and medical physics residency programs Regular multidisciplinary disease specific neuro and thoracic oncology tumor boards Emphasis on work life balance favorable call schedules Potential for protected research time Growing array of internal and external grant funding A culture of respect support and professional growth We have excellent and advanced treatment facilities technology and physics and dosimetry support. Construction of a stateoftheart proton unit set to open in the spring of 2027. This cuttingedge facility will bolster our expanding neuro and pediatric oncology programs ensuring advanced care for our patients. The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute ( NCI ) designated cancer center in Nebraska. Our growing faculty includes seven physicians nine physicists and three research faculty dedicated to education at all levels from health professions students postgraduate residency programs and continuing medical education. The successful candidate must be an MD/DO (or equivalent degree) who is board certified/eligible in radiation oncology. We welcome experienced candidates as well as those recently trained to consider this opportunity. Required Qualifications
Applicants must have a MD or DO degree with completion or near completion of a residency in ACGME accredited Radiation Oncology. Applicants applying should have experience in 3D CRT IMRT SABR SRS and HDR . Board certification or board eligibility from the American Board of Radiology ( ABR ).
