Job Summary:
Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing problems with vehicles performing maintenance and repairs on our clients cars that come in for service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnoses maintains and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine transmission electrical steering suspension brakes and air conditioning;
- Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards;
- Performs maintenance procedure including oil changes fluid level checks tire rotations etc.;
- Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment;
- Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs;
- Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications;
- Suggest other services or repairs as necessary;
- Performs test drives as needed;
- Stateregulated vehicle inspections;
- Communicates directly with the Service Advisor and/or Service Dispatcher so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed;
- Performs other related duties consistent with the role; this does not preclude management from assigning additional though unrelated duties.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems diagnostic tools and repair techniques;
- Effective problemsolving skills are crucial for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues;
- Ability to work in a team environment efficiently;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Excellent time management skills;
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
Required Education / Experience / Certifications:
- Valid Driving License and acceptable Driving Record History;
- Acceptable Background Record;
- Strong understanding of automotive systems diagnostic tools and repair techniques;
- Current ASE certification or ability to attain certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects like engines transmissions tires parts etc. (up to 50 pounds);
- Fine motor skills such as manipulating small parts using hand tools and working with precision;
- Ability to bend stoop kneel squat and climb to access various parts of a vehicle;
- Visual acuity for identifying problems reading gauges and working with small parts;
- Extended periods of standing walking and reaching.
