Job Summary:

Automotive Technicians are responsible for diagnosing problems with vehicles performing maintenance and repairs on our clients cars that come in for service.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Diagnoses maintains and repairs vehicle automotive systems including engine transmission electrical steering suspension brakes and air conditioning;
  • Performs work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and manufacturer standards;
  • Performs maintenance procedure including oil changes fluid level checks tire rotations etc.;
  • Tests components and systems using diagnostic tools and special service equipment;
  • Provide an estimate of the time needed for additional repairs;
  • Executes repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications;
  • Suggest other services or repairs as necessary;
  • Performs test drives as needed;
  • Stateregulated vehicle inspections;
  • Communicates directly with the Service Advisor and/or Service Dispatcher so that customers can be informed if any additional service is needed;
  • Performs other related duties consistent with the role; this does not preclude management from assigning additional though unrelated duties.
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems diagnostic tools and repair techniques;
  • Effective problemsolving skills are crucial for diagnosing and repairing vehicle issues;
  • Ability to work in a team environment efficiently;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Excellent time management skills;
  • Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

Required Education / Experience / Certifications:

  • Valid Driving License and acceptable Driving Record History;
  • Acceptable Background Record;
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems diagnostic tools and repair techniques;
  • Current ASE certification or ability to attain certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects like engines transmissions tires parts etc. (up to 50 pounds);
  • Fine motor skills such as manipulating small parts using hand tools and working with precision;
  • Ability to bend stoop kneel squat and climb to access various parts of a vehicle;
  • Visual acuity for identifying problems reading gauges and working with small parts;
  • Extended periods of standing walking and reaching.
