About the unit
5 North is a 37 bed Medical surgical unit with telemetry monitoring capabilities and 9 patient beds that can utilize video monitoring to enhance patient safety. The RN joining our team must have good critical thinking and clinical decisionmaking skills to care for patients with complex disease processes that cover a wide spectrum. Caring for our diverse patient population you will have the opportunity to collaborate with a variety of doctors and healthcare team members. This experience will allow you to enhance your knowledge and support your patients on their journey to better health.

Scope of work
Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care unit routine and hospital policy under the direction of a Registered Nurse. Safe transport of patients via wheelchair or stretcher dispatch services and appropriate documentation of services. Provides the services of an Observer for any patient on a patient care unit who has been assessed to require constant observation either in person or via remote video monitoring to maximize his/her safety. Performs general receptionist and clerical duties to facilitate efficient functioning of the nursing unit. Documentation of care provided in the electronic medical record.
Orientation
This position requires a full week of corporate orientation. The schedule is MondayFriday 7am3:30pm. You will be required to attend the entire week consecutively.
