Designs and develops biomedicalrelated engineering systems solving difficult problems in imaginative yet practical ways while striving for novel and elegant solutions. Acts as a technical leader for complex and ambiguous projects working with a project manager to plan the project and overseeing successful completion of the technical work. Directs and coordinates the work of other staff. Is a technical expert in one or more engineering disciplines. Is expert in the use of engineering software and hardware including modeling and analysis tools. Leads evaluation of new technologies and selects and specifies capital equipment. Leads other engineers and management in developing and implementing strategic and tactical solutions to improve operations and performance. Has a comprehensive knowledge of the Divisions quality management system and provides expertise in safety risk management and regulatory requirements. Is a selfstarter who excels in a multidisciplinary development environment. Communicates effectively in writing conversation and formal presentations at all levels of the Mayo Clinic. Presents technical information at internal and external conferences and seminars and publishes articles in peerreviewed journals.
BS in Engineering or related field with 10 years of related experience; Or MS in Engineering or related field with 8 years of related experience; Or PhD in Engineering or related field with 6 years of related experience. Minimum of 4 years experience leading technical project teams is required. Masters or PhD preferred.
